Project Manager/Supervisor

This is an amazing opportunity to join one of New Zealand’s largest home building companies. Stonewood Homes NZ Limited have been building new homes since 1987 and our success is due to our innovation and a great team of people. This role is Matamata based, however it does cover a large geographical area of the Waikato, Bay of Plenty and Coromandle. We are looking for someone to live in Matamata or near-by.

 

This role is responsible for providing and managing efficient, responsive and cost effective services and facilities, while achieving the highest level of customer satisfaction through the construction of homes to the agreed time, budget, quality and specification. It also included full oversight of the company health and safety as well as projects maintenance.

 

Key areas of focus:

  • Client communication: providing excellent internal and external customer service and maintaining client’s satisfaction levels during construction.
  • Construction: ensuring the home is started and completed on schedule, to Stonewood specifications, and to the expected quality of workmanship.
  • H & S: ensuring ongoing compliance with health and safety across the business
  • Maintenance: managing the current and future maintenance requirement of the company contracts and ensuring the 30 day walkthroughs are completed with the contract timeframes.

 

The successful candidate will have:

  • A minimum of two years’ experience in a similar role, with a minimum of five years in the residential construction industry
  • A solid understanding of H & S and experience with its application in the construction industry
  • The ability to communicate effectively with a wide variety of people including customers, suppliers, trade contractors, regulatory and compliance, authorities, Health and Safety authorities and advisors
  • An intermediate level of computer literacy, competent with MS Office Suite. Experience with Buildertrend would also be an advantage.
  • A Tertiary Qualification in Construction Manager or similar qualification is desirable, along with being Licenced Building Practitioner Site 1 and Carpentry accredited.
  • Proven leadership skills that generate a collaborative, effective and positive work environment.
